Our Story

A New Name. The Same Wagyu Journey.

If you discovered WANO NIKU through Ghib Ojisan's videos, or have been following us since our WANO NIKU days, you may be wondering where we are today.

We are now at our new home in Kovan — MUMU NIKU, continuing our passion for authentic Japanese Wagyu yakiniku in Singapore.

WANO NIKU was where our journey began in Singapore. From our first outlet in Tanjong Pagar in 2021 to WANO NIKU AMK, we built years of experience, friendships and memories with our customers while continuing to bring Japanese Wagyu Yakiniku to Singapore's neighbourhoods.

As we entered a new chapter, circumstances meant that we could no longer continue under the WANO NIKU name. While the change was unexpected, what matters most has remained the same.

The same people behind the Wagyu journey, the same experience, the same passion for Japanese Wagyu, and the same commitment to bringing good Wagyu to our customers continue with us today at MUMU NIKU.

MUMU NIKU is the next chapter of that journey.

THE PASSION BEHIND OUR WAGYU

30 Years of Wagyu Experience

Our founder Isao-San, has more than 30 years of experience in the Wagyu business in Japan. Originally from Kakogawa, Hyogo, he also owns a yakiniku restaurant in his hometown.

His passion for Wagyu and yakiniku brought him from Japan to Singapore, where he has been closely involved in developing our menu and remains responsible for selecting and sourcing our Wagyu.

From WANONIKU to MUMU NIKU, Isao-san's knowledge, experience and passion for Japanese Wagyu remain at the heart of what we do.

OUR WAGYU, CAREFULLY SELECTED

Our founder remains closely involved in selecting our Wagyu from Japan, with a focus on authentic Japanese Black Wagyu and A4/A5 graded beef.
